
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday received Mauriitus's highest honour, The Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean while attending the National Day Parade as chief guest.
Mauritian Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam on Tuesday announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be conferred with the nation’s highest honour, The Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean.
Ramgoolam said Modi is the fifth foreign national and first Indian to receive this distinguished recognition. The award recognises his contributions to strengthening ties between India and Mauritius. This marks the 21st international award conferred upon PM Modi by a foreign nation.

Its an honour given to 140 crore Indians."
“On the special occasion of Mauritius’ National Day, I had the opportunity to meet my good friend, PM Navinchandra Ramgoolam and discuss the full range of India-Mauritius friendship", he said in a post.
“We have decided to raise our partnership to an Enhanced Strategic Partnership. We talked about how we can work together in areas such as infrastructure, housing, digital technology,66jogo Cassinos ao Vivo Brasil health and more. We also want to cover more ground in areas like AI, capacity building and sustainable growth", he further added.
The order comes as coalition government of Chancellor Olaf Scholz is facing pressure to take a tougher stance on irregular migration.
This ban would extend to social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. As per the Australian government, this legislation is expected to be passed and implemented by the end of 2024.

As per reports, the Indian Navy took part in the parade with a marching contingent. An Indian Navy helicopter, the Akash Ganga Skydiving Team from the Indian Air Force and a team of NCC cadets took part in the festivities.
Congratulating PM Modi for the honour, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “The Modi Doctrine of Diplomacy has elevated Bharat’s stature as a global leader by building bridges of cooperation and discovering the lost ones. This award is a global recognition of these efforts. My heartfelt congratulations to Modi Ji."
